Question:
I was drawn to you guys by "Keep the Funk Alive" being that you seem to have been grown from the same tree as me, why is it so important to keep the funk alive?
Answer: Man let me tell you!!!  I have a 12yr old son and last year was his first time learning to play Trumpet in his school.  This year they pulled it.  So now he has no music education offered in his school.  So just as the dinosaurs were made extinct....if we're not careful, so will FUNK.  If you think about it.  How many Funk bands do you hear on the radio or see on MTV or even BET?....Right!!!  Not a single one.   That's why Jp Delaire & myself wrote "Keep The Funk Alive".
Question: Tell people why they should give "One Blu Sho0" a listen?
Answer: We offer that old school vibe with a new school thang.  Our music talks about real life situations that people can relate too.  From being a single mom in "Appreciated" to making better choices after being incarcerated in "Lil Miss Sunshine".  Across the board it's all about life through music, and music through life.
Question: What are five of your favorite all-time albums?
Answer:

This isn't fair...I can name one band that would cover all five. hahaha!!

  • The Time "What Time is It?"
  • Miles Davis "Live Around the World"
  • Los Muenquitos De Matanzas "Vacano"
  • Gap Band "Live & Well"
  • and all of Mint Condition's stuff.
Question: What are some of the cd's you've been jamming to of late?
Answer: Timberland, Tpain, Mint, The ShoO's new stuff, Dwele, Jp Delaire's new cd.
Question: Who is your favorite Cartoon character? (standard question..hee hee)
Answer: Butter Cup from the Power Puff Girls!!!  The reason why is because she reminds me of my wife. hahahaha!!!
Question: What are your favorite movies/tv shows?
Answer: I would have to say my favorite movie would be "Man On Fire", and tv show would have to be "The Game"
Question: What are some of the things you've been doing of late? (touring? new music, etc)
Answer: We're always on the grind in production with the ShoO, but I just got back from Hawaii with the High School Band where I'm the Asst. Director of Bands and Head Percussion Instructor.
Question: What do you think of Internet radio?
Answer: Internet radio is soon to be a force to be reckoned with.  We're very glad to have Emancipation Radio in our corner.
Question: What ways do you use the internet to promote your music?
Answer: Right now we're using Myspace, and soon to use itunes.
Question: Of all the things you've done in your life, what are you most proud of?
Answer: It would be having my lovely family.  I'm very proud to have them.
